“Working as an MCAC adviser lit a fire under me in terms of my passion around college access, but also more broadly increasing access for marginalized communities. It has been a common thread for every job I’ve had since.”

Why this matters
The Need in Michigan:
41st
in college enrollment
88%
of high-wage jobs ($75K+) require a bachelor’s degree
54.7%
of high school graduates enrolled in college
46%
of working-age adults hold a degree or certificate

To meet Michigan’s Sixty by 30 goal, we must provide college access programming at every age and stage of a student’s journey. Too often, high school leaders and students see U-M as out of reach—our work shifts this mindset by building trust, broadening access, and partnering directly with schools.
"I love how we interacted with different people and got out of our comfort zones. The summer camp was very helpful, especially with the SAT prep and career workshop."
With its reach, relationships, and expertise, U-M—through CEO—is uniquely positioned to deliver the K–12 interventions needed to close gaps and strengthen Michigan’s talent pipeline.
