CEO serves the state of Michigan through programs that impact K-12 communities and facilitates outreach opportunities for the U-M campus. Across programs, CEO impacted around 7,000 underrepresented middle and high school students through college success programming facilitated by permanent on-site staff, classroom visits campus visits, and a strong community presence within the school calendar year.
On behalf of the University, CEO serves as a powerful bridge-builder to K-12 schools, ensuring bi-directional relationships and disseminating important resources, knowledge, and expertise.
Using both CEO internal initiatives and our sponsor programs (GEAR UP & MCAC), we have instigated and continued our partnerships with over 22 middle and high schools, providing both virtual and on-site services to students, teachers, and administration. These services include college advising, financial aid workshops, social-emotional training, peer leadership workshops, and much more.
MCAC guides a diverse group of recent U-M graduates to serve as college advisers in sixteen under-resourced MI high schools.
GEAR UP is a federal program that supports students from low-income communities in their journey to college success.
CEO’s visitation program hosts, supports and collaborates with U-M units, faculty, schools, and community-based organizations.
