Campus Visits
Campus Visits inspire Michigan K-12 students to envision higher education as an attainable goal through engaging, social justice-focused experiences.
This experience helped students think critically about their goals and the resources available to achieve them.
Our History
2024
Plans to introduce STEM-specific campus tours.
2023
Collaborated with Detroit community organizations to enhance pre-college workshops.
Included specialized visits with cultural themes such as Native Heritage and Cesar Chavez Day.
Partnered with GEAR UP to serve 2,020 students in 77 visits.
2022
Expanded in-person visits post-pandemic, emphasizing smaller groups.
2021
Piloted virtual experiences with faculty and U-M staff involvement.
2020
Virtual tours and Decision Day celebrations initiated during the pandemic.
2019
Offered consulting services to U-M units to optimize pre-college programming.
2018
A-MAIZE-ing Race, a social justice-themed campus tour, was created.
2017
Campus Visit was charged with providing the community with campus visits for limited-resource schools.
The visit made me excited to think about my future and push myself toward bigger goals.
