College Corps

College Corps brings U-M student leaders on weekly visits to Oak Park High School where they present a comprehensive college awareness curriculum covering topics such as:

  • study skills
  • personal and academic goal setting
  • how to prepare for college as high schoolers
  • the importance of a college education
  • the opportunities a college education provides
  • career exploration
  • college terminology
  • searching for colleges
  • the college application process
  • financial aid
  • scholarship resources

College Corps equips participants with the knowledge to make good decisions throughout the remainder of their high school careers. The curriculum of the program, paired with instructional time inside the classroom enhances the influence on student success and aspiration to attend college.
